The Mechanical Engineering Technician III position is responsible for the support of development and improvement of electro-mechanical products and processes related to airflow control and monitoring products and accessories. The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, and will work with the Mechanical Design Group and interact with related departments for experimental investigation, prototyping, final design, and release to manufacturing of new and improved products.
Analysis and fabrication of various mechanical components and prototypes, including material selection and assembly of fixtures and test setups for evaluation of current and future products.
Conducts tests and experiments in accordance with documented procedures and protocols.
Works with minimal supervision to investigate technical problems including the design and implementation of appropriate solutions.
Manages lab facilities and test equipment through acquisition, calibration, maintenance and storage.
Documentation of all tasks through reports, sketches, drawings, bills of materials including ECOs and new product releases.
Contribute in the area feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
Be a technical expert in concept and fixture design as well as hands-on process development
Utilize your engineering capabilities to support projects in a variety of markets
20 Technical documentation 20 Mechanical Parts design and support 20 Drawing and 3D modeling 20 Component and system analysis 20 Engineering support
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
1 or more years experience in:
Machine Shop (Mill and Lathe)
Electrical and/or Electronic Test lab
MS and CAD applications
2 or more years experience working within High Volume manufacturing
3 or more years experience troubleshooting/problem solving within Design and/or Production
Industrial design talent
Ability to work independently
Willingness to learn new technologies
An open, honest and team oriented personality
Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work
Some experience developing new products or sustaining existing product ranges
Some experience in a highly regulated or safety critical domain
Mechanical Engineering degree
